Three new Star Wars films await us in the coming years. One of them will be a continuation of the star saga. This should play 15 years after Star Wars 9 and bring back Rey Skywalker, played by Daisy Ridley, for a new adventure. She is the only confirmed star from the sequel trilogy to appear in Star Wars 10: New Jedi Order. But that could change soon.
New Star Wars film with Rey: John Boyega is set to return as Finn
According to a new Star Wars rumor, John Boyega could also appear in Star Wars 10 return in the role of Finn. Film critic John Rocha reports, citing inside sources, in the latest issue of The Hot Mic podcast (via Comicbook).
Disney
John Boyega as Finn
According to Rocha, talks between Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy and John Boyega are said to have already taken place, and a conciliatory discussion is said to have taken place. In the past, Boyega has expressed his displeasure with the development of his Star Wars character several times and has sharply criticized Disney for it.
So far, his return to the Star Wars franchise seemed out of the question. Now the fan dream of seeing John Boyega again as Finn could still come true. Should there also be a reunion with Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron, the reunion of the sequel trilogy stars in Star Wars 10 would be complete.
Finn’s return has not yet been officially confirmed. At the moment it is still a rumour. We will keep you informed about new developments around the Rey project.
What is known so far about Star Wars 10 with Daisy Ridley
The new Star Wars film will be set 15 years after Star Wars 9: The Rise of Skywalker and will focus on Rey Skywalker’s rebuilding of the Jedi Order. The project will be directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (Ms. Marvel). The screenplay will be penned by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight. A start date is not yet known. The Rey sequel could hit theaters in 2025 at the earliest.
