The charges relate to Simon allegedly using the credit cards of Justine Braisaz-Bouchets and another French biathlete to purchase goods online.
The purchases are said to have landed somewhere between 12,000 – 24,000 Swedish kronor.
The suspected fraud is said to have occurred while the athletes were competing at the Blinkfestivalen, which is decided on roller skis, in Sandnes, Norway, in the fall of 2022.
Received a lot of media attention
Julia Simon has always denied the accusations and has previously stated that she was impersonated.
The case, which is still under investigation, has received a lot of attention in the media and the French riders have been asked about it at competitions.
“I feel no anger”
Simon and Braisaz-Bouchet are racing side by side this winter. Despite everything that has happened, the French women’s team has been extremely strong in the World Cup.
– I feel no anger. It’s not settled (the case) but we’re here because we’re biathletes and I respect that. I want the team to work well, says Justine Braisaz-Bouchet.
