NEWGEIN – A 44-year-old Haarlemmer has been sentenced to 150 days in prison by the Utrecht court for persistently beating his ex-partner in Nieuwegein. Of the sentence imposed, 107 days are suspended with a probation period of two years. Because the man has been in custody for 43 days, he would not have to go back to prison, were it not for the fact that he is now incarcerated for another serious crime.
