A boy under the age of 18 was helped to escape abroad by staff at an HVB home in Uppsala county, reports the Siren news agency.
The staff helped the boy pack his bags, book a train ticket to Germany and also drove him to the train station.
The director of the accommodation knew about the escape plans and now the company that ran the home has carried out an investigation and submitted a report to the Inspectorate for Care and Care.
Had contact during the train journey
The reason the boy wanted to run away was because he risked deportation.
“The staff acted based on a momentary perception of humane action,” the company writes in its investigation.
According to the investigation submitted, the boy says he had contact with adults in Germany who would help him on the spot and the staff had phone contact with the boy during the trip.
