One of the panel members, Chiel Bareman, believes that the distorted image of the theater as an elite place should be over. “We do this to make theater more accessible to younger audiences. There is often still a bit of an elitist atmosphere around theater and that is actually not true at all. But that has to be disproved in the long run and I think we can do this with fun extras, such as now with the mini golf course, can adjust that image and that we can paint a more realistic picture of all the cool things that are happening here in the Stadsschouwburg.”
