So far, paid parking has only been introduced in Utrecht if a majority in a neighborhood wants it. That’s called a support measurement. This support measurement was introduced a long time ago, when the VVD was in the council. This was not the case during the previous term of office and the Liberals are not in the coalition now either. This measurement of support is a thorn in GroenLinks’ side, it hinders and delays the introduction of paid parking. And so the current coalition agreement stated that paid parking will in any case be introduced throughout the municipality. So also in Leidsche Rijn, Overvecht and Haarzuilens.
