St. Vincent de Paul has been given a $16,900 donation from 100 Women Who Care Norfolk.
The organization was presented with the money, which will be used for its food kitchen program, at the February meeting of 100 Women Who Care.
St. Vincent de Paul provides hot lunches on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from Thanksgiving to April at the Knights of Columbus location in Simcoe. They also have a small supply of food basics to deliver to those in need. People can get these extra groceries by calling St. Mary’s Church.
In addition to St. Vincent de Paul, representatives from two other charities made presentations to the 100 Women Who Care Norfolk group – Jill Chuli for the Waterford Skate Park and Kim Shippey for Lynnwood Arts Centre.
Since 2014, 100 Women Who Care Norfolk has raised just under $550,000 for 35 Norfolk charities. To become a member or learn more about the organization, go to 100womenwhocarenofolk.ca
