On March 8, The St. Marys Public Library and the Huron-Pérth Period Poverty Task Force Will Be Highlighting Their Period Pantry by Providing Free Period Products, Including Pads, Tampons, Diva Discs and Diva Wash, To Those in Need.
The Pantry, Which is Funded by A Grant from Shoppers Drug Mart’s Shoppers Foundation for Women’s Health, Aims to Raise Awareness about the Issue of Access to Affordable Feminine Hygiene Products While Promoting discussions on Ensnering that every individual has access to the hygiene ite.
The Federal Government’s menstrual Equity Fund Pilot Defines Period Poverty AS “A Lack of Access to Menstrual Products, Education, Hygiene Facility, Waste Management, or A Combination of These.” According to this pilot, surround 17 per hundred of canadians who menstruate personally experienced period poverty in 2023, While Roughly 20 per hundred expected to not be able to afford Hygiene Products in the Next 12 MONTHS.

The St. Marys Friendship Center Will Hold Its Annual International Women’s Day Event on March 7 at 1 pm with a theme of accelerate action.
This Free Event Will Feature Three Speakers: Aileen Burgin, who will present on Her Work with the Super Aging Initiative; Myrna Fisk, who will speak about the philanthropic education organization; and BESTSELLING AUTHOR JULIE SAWCHUCK, who will talk the importance of proactive planning for accessibility and inclusion.
