St. Antonius Hospital receives 7.1 million for research into treatment of leaky heart valve

St Antonius Hospital sends 8 pallets of medical aid supplies

“During the operation, we insert the device specially designed for this valve, a kind of staple, through the groin vein,” explains cardiologist Martin Swaans. “The heart does not have to be stopped for this. Via ultrasound images we closely monitor the heart function during the procedure and we can also properly assess the leakage on site to ensure that the staple is placed in the right place to close the leakage.”
