Egor Polin opened the scoring for SSK in the first period when he took the ride down towards the edge corner – but threw a puck towards the goal on win and loss at the height of the extended goal line.
The result?
Perfect.
The puck found its way into the first cross behind a surprised Jörgen Hanneborg in the Västerås goal and made it 1–0.
Up at the top of the table
Kim Rosdahl equalized for VIK not long after but with less than a minute left in the first period, SSK took advantage of a power play when Sebastian Dyk found Nicolai Meyer over the center line to make it 2-1.
– Our PP works well, it’s just a matter of continuing to practice and being creative and hopefully they will continue to enter, said Meyer during the period break.
3–1 came in the middle period through Nolan Stevens before Filiph Ensund put the nail in the coffin with his 4–1 goal in the third.
SSK victory and three points that take the team up to the league lead, because Karlskoga fell in parallel against Nybro.
