Earlier this year, the municipality expressed its wish to build approximately 5,300 student homes by 2030, equal to the current shortage. There are already plans for 3,500 homes, such as the new student complex in Science Park. 921 homes must be completed there in 2025. There is a need for haste in the realization of housing, also because Utrecht University of Applied Sciences and Utrecht University accept more students every year.
