So far, the Star Wars series on Disney+ have mainly been there to deepen well-known episodes or to explore periods in between. So the upcoming Disney+ series Star Wars: The Acolyte is particularly exciting. Showrunner Leslye Headland, who is behind the Netflix series Matryoshka, among other things, will be one here completely new story in the Star Wars universe tell.

Squid Game Star Lands Star in New Star Wars Series
As Deadline is said to have learned from sources, Squid Game star Lee Jung-Jae is taking over male lead in Star Wars: The Acolyte. It was previously known that Jodie Turner-Smith (Queen & Slim) will also star in the Disney+ series. The female lead is played by Amandla Stenberg (The Hate U Give).
It was only a matter of time before Squid Game stars landed in Hollywood. The Netflix hit was a mass phenomenon in 2021 and became the most successful series on the streaming service.
In addition to the male lead, Star Wars: The Acolyte is intended to den Focus on female characters lay. Nothing is known about the plot of the new series. It was last described as an action thriller with martial arts elements. The launch of The Acolyte is not yet known. The Star Wars series could come to Disney+ in 2023.
