With 2.2 billion (!) hours watched within the first 91 days, the first season of Squid Game catapulted itself to the top position of the most successful Netflix series of all time in 2021. The second season could now build on this mega-success, as the new episodes are available just a few days after the start of streaming huge record broken.

Squid Game Season 2 has launched with a bang on Netflix. In all 93 countries where Netflix is available as a streamer, the new episodes of the hit series climbed to number 1 in the streaming charts. According to Flixpatrol, the series is still at the top of the podium in all countries three days later. No series has achieved this before – neither Wednesday, nor Stranger Things or Dahmer.

In season 2, Gi-hun (Jung-Jae Lee) returns to the arena after three years to take revenge on the game makers and stop the deadly games once and for all. Meanwhile, police officer Jun-ho (Wi Ha-Joon) searches for the secret island where the Squid Game takes place.
