Spotted in Russia Positions dug Shelters being built

The Governor of Russia’s Kursk Region, Alexei Smirnov, made a statement about the shelters. In a statement on his Telegram channel, Governor Smirnov said that the construction of reinforced concrete shelters in Kursk has begun and that the shelters will be installed near 60 main bus stops. In addition, a video published by the governor shows a gray shelter with the words “Ukrytiye” (Shelter) written in red letters being set up on the street.

According to the news in Haber Global, the city of Kursk, the capital of the region of the same name, is located about 80 km from the border with Ukraine’s Sumy region, where Ukrainian forces launched a major offensive on August 6. Ukraine said it captured 93 towns in the Kursk region, covering more than 1,250 km2 of Russian territory.

According to Russian authorities, more than 120,000 people have fled their homes in Kursk, which has a population of about 440,000, in two weeks. According to Smirnov, the decision to install such equipment was taken by the crisis unit established in the Kursk region to cope with the Ukrainian army offensive.
