Spotlight Hour on August 20, 2024 – Start and Bonuses
When does the spotlight hour start? The event starts on August 20, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. At 7:00 p.m. you can expect the normal spawns again.
Which bonus is active? During this period, you will receive double candy for all monsters that you send to the professor. This is a really good opportunity to make the most of your unused Pokémon. It’s worth sorting your collection with tags beforehand, then you won’t have to spend a lot of time searching.
Is there a shiny Menki? Yes, Menki can be shiny. However, the chance of getting the shiny variant is not increased.
Is the spotlight hour with Menki worth it? Yes, and the reason for that is called Electabuzz. This is the relatively new final evolution of Manki, following Primeape. Electabuzz appeared in Pokémon GO earlier this year.
In raids, Electabuzz is not one of the top options, but in the Battle League, things are completely different. The ghost and fighting-type Pokémon is one of the best monsters there. In the Great League, it is a dangerous opponent for many Pokémon that are actually among the typical favorites there.
