What is this event? Spotlight Hour runs every Tuesday night in Pokémon GO. At the beginning of the month, the developers already announce which Pokémon will appear on the respective dates in the coming weeks. The event runs for 60 minutes and brings lots of spawns of the event Pokémon. A bonus makes the appointment even more worthwhile.
Today, September 6th, the focus is on the fifth-generation Pokémon Somniam. It belongs to the Psycho type and can evolve into Somnivora.
Spotlight Hour on September 6th – Launch, Bonuses, Shiny
When does it start? As you already know, Spotlight Hour will run again today from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time.
What bonuses are there? You get double Stardust for catching Pokémon. If you also ignite a smoke and move, you will attract even more Pokémon and can further increase your stardust yield. A star piece would further increase your received dust.
Almost anywhere in the wild and through the smoke you will meet Somniam. This is also a good opportunity to start the special research “A Cosmic Companion”. Because for the research you should catch many psycho-Pokémon. The limelight hour with somniam and the psycho spectacle are ideal here.
Does Shiny Somniam exist? Yes, you can catch Shiny Somniam in Pokémon GO. The graphic below shows what Somniam and Somnivora look like as Shiny:
Who is Limelight Hour for? Neither Somniam nor Somnivora are important as attackers in raids or in PvP. The hour is worth it mainly because of the stardust bonus, which can fill up your supplies well if you play effectively.
With luck you can also secure a Shiny. However, the chances of this are not increased.
