Today, July 4, 2023, Pokémon GO is Spotlight Hour with Geronimatz. In the overview we show you everything about Shiny, the start and the bonuses of the event.
What is this event? Spotlight Hour starts every Tuesday in Pokémon GO. For 60 minutes, a Pokémon selected by Niantic will appear in the wild significantly more often and will be accompanied by a bonus. The developers determine at the beginning of the month which combination of Pokémon and bonus that is.
At today’s event, you’ll meet the Pokémon Geronimatz and get double Stardust for catching Pokémon.
Spotlight Hour on July 4th
When does it start? Like every Tuesday, the limelight hour starts again today at 6:00 p.m. The event is then active for one hour and ends again at 7:00 p.m.
What bonuses are there? If you play during the event period, you will encounter Geronimatz almost everywhere in the wild. If you want to increase the encounters even further, you can activate a smoke to do so.
In addition, you get twice the amount of stardust for catching Pokémon. A good opportunity to fill up this resource with you.
Today is the first spotlight hour this month. Three more events are coming up for you in July. In the overview we show you what the next dates look like:
Can you catch Shiny Geronimatz? Yes, the dazzling form of Geronimatz is already active in Pokémon GO and you can catch it. However, keep in mind that the chances at the Spotlight Hour are not increased. So you need good luck.
Is today’s spotlight worth it? Geronimatz is not a particularly attractive attacker. Unfortunately, its further development, Washakwil, is not one of the strong Pokémon either. In PvP, it barely reaches the lower midfield in the super and hyper leagues. So there are much stronger alternatives.
Participation in today’s spotlight hour is therefore worthwhile especially for the stardust bonus.
