What event is it about? Every Tuesday in Pokémon GO there is a so-called spotlight hour, during which a predetermined Pokémon can be found everywhere in the wild for 60 minutes. The short event is further enhanced with an additional bonus.
Today it’s that time again and you can meet Abra during the spotlight hour. The Psychic Pokémon comes from the first generation of games and can be developed into Simsala via Kadabra. Spotlight Hour on May 14th – Launch, Bonuses and Shiny
When does the spotlight hour start? Like every Tuesday, the spotlight hour starts again today, May 14, 2024, promptly at 6:00 p.m. local time. It will then be active until 7:00 p.m.
What bonuses await you? During the one-hour event, you will be able to encounter wild Abra throughout the game. If the spawns aren’t enough, you can use smoke to attract more specimens.
The Psychic Pokémon is accompanied by an XP bonus. This means you get twice the amount of experience points for developing Pokémon.
Is there Shiny Abra? Yes, with a bit of luck Abra can be caught as Shiny during the spotlight hour. You can recognize it by a slightly lighter body. Please note, however, that unlike Community Day, the Shiny chance is not additionally increased.
Is the spotlight hour with Abra worth it? Abra and its evolutions are not particularly strong. So they don’t play a big role in the GO battle league and raids. Only the Mega Evolution can convince as a strong Psychic Pokémon in the raids and is therefore one of the best attackers in Pokémon GO.
Shiny hunters will primarily get their money’s worth during the event. If you still have a number of monsters in your collection that you would like to develop, you should do so during the Spotlight Hour to benefit from the additional XP.
