In the US, the price for an ad-free premium subscription is being raised from 9:99 to 10:99 dollars, the streaming service writes on its website.
How large the increase will be in Europe is not yet clear. Previous media reports have claimed that it is one euro, which would mean a price increase of SEK 11.50.
The announcement comes the day before Spotify presents its interim report for the second quarter.
