CROSS RIDING Puck Pieterse from Amersfoort finished third on her return to the field. The victory in the World Cup competition in Namur went to compatriot Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado. The 26-year-old cyclocross rider from Fenix-Deceuninck stayed ahead of Lucinda Brand, the leader in the World Cup, on the tough course in Belgium. World champion Fem van Empel, the best in Herentals a day earlier, was behind early and finished seventh.
