SNOOKER Hugo van Houten has reached the last 32 at the O19 World Cup in Morocco. The 18-year-old Montfoorter won his first group match, against Caiden Casha from Malta, 3-0. Van Houten then won 3-2 against the only 12-year-old Briton William Thomson after trailing 2-1, after which he lost his third match against the Ukrainian Michael Larkov 3-2. In the fourth and decisive pool match, Van Houten beat Iustin Ilie Scripei from Romania 3-0, meaning he moves to the next round as number 2 in the pool. (Monday January 20)
