Arne Hegerfors began his career on the radio in Gothenburg before the journey at SVT Sport began in 1969.
In the television box, he quickly became one of the country’s most popular personalities and commented on the biggest sporting events for several decades.
After 29 years at SVT, the profile moved over to Canal Plus where he continued his successful career that ended in 2012.
A tough period followed the career. Hegerfors suffered a stroke, a heart attack and a brain tumor.
Now the icon has fallen asleep. Arne Hegerfors was 81 years old.
