Alerts on credit information and orders • Sports admin exposed to cyber attack
People may have been subjected to fraud attempts after the Sportadmin app was hacked.
Now Älvsjö AIK Football Association issues a warning to its members.
“Orders have been placed in members’ names and several UC credit inquiries have been carried out,” they write in a post on Facebook.
The app with over a million users was exposed to a cyber attack in mid-January. Sportadmin has announced that they are assuming that personal data was leaked – and said this weekend that in the worst case it is about all users’ data.
Now AIK Älvsjö Football Association writes that some of their members have been exposed to fraud attempts after the cyber attack. The club, whose website is down, writes in a post on Facebook that orders have been made in the name of members and that UC credit information has been carried out.
“If you notice that this affects you, please file a police report,” writes the club.
The prompt: Block your credit report
Furthermore, the club gives concrete tips on what to do to protect yourself. They urge their members to block their credit reports on UC’s website and get the Kivra app.
In addition, they urge not to answer unknown numbers and not to click on unverified links.
TV4 Nyheterna has been in contact with Älvsjö AIK, who choose not to comment on the fraud attempts, instead referring questions to Sportadmin.
Sports admin: Don’t know
Jennie Everhed, head of communications at Lime Technologies, which owns Sportadmin, says they have no information or indications that personal data has been used for fraud attempts.
– It’s nothing we know about. We have not been able to confirm what data the attackers have obtained – nor whether any data has been released or spread further. So it is therefore difficult for us to decide at the present time.
Sportadmin says they are continuing the security investigation, but still don’t know who is behind the attack.
– We can only urge members of associations to be extra vigilant about contact attempts from unknown numbers and email addresses and not to click on links that cannot be verified.
