The reason is that he is suspected of carrying out intelligence work on behalf of a foreign power. The police, after a search of the house, must have found objects that gave rise to suspicion of damage to the Olympic Games.

The news came shortly after Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin confirmed to TV channel BFMTV that an 18-year-old man was arrested in Gironde in southeastern France on Tuesday on suspicion of planning a “violent action” against the Olympics.
– We are still working on this case, the Minister of the Interior told the channel and points out that it has not been determined that the young man intended to attack the games.
