This Monday July 19 was published the health protocol which will be applied in schools at the start of the next school year. It provides for several levels depending on the evolution of the epidemic situation and a basic base:
- Base and level 1 (green level): physical and sporting activities are allowed indoors and outdoors without limitation,
- Level 2 / orange level : physical and sporting activities take place in principle outdoors. However, when indoor practice is essential due to weather or the unavailability of facilities, it is done respecting a distancing suitable for the activity. Contact sports are not allowed.
- Level 3 / red level : Physical and sporting activities generally take place outdoors. However, when indoor practice is essential, only low intensity activities compatible with distancing are authorized.
Whether for the base or the three levels of protocol, the rules relating to the wearing of masks applicable to adults and children in the general population apply to the school environment.
Can balls be used for sports at school?
The use of equipment shared by pupils of the same class or of the same class group is possible (rackets, balls, shuttlecocks, etc.). It is nevertheless recommended to disinfect common equipment on a regular basis or isolate shared objects 24 hours before reuse of balls, and any other toys and accessories.
Can changing rooms be used?
“The use of changing rooms for physical education is authorized, in compliance with the health measures in force and paying particular attention to the ventilation of the premises. It is advisable to favor the use of individual changing rooms when possible“, specifies the Ministry of National Education which underlines that the changing rooms must be ventilated regularly.
