Splitgate, the shooter game developed by 1047 Games for many years and attracting great attention, will enter indefinite maintenance mode, the game will not receive any updates.
Splitgate went into indefinite maintenance. This means that the game will continue with minor updates and fixes, but will not receive major updates after that. Producer 1047 Games explained the reason for this as “concentrating on a new shooter game set in the Splitgate universe that they will develop with Unreal Engine 5.
Splitgate enters indefinite maintenance mode, free Battle Pass will be distributed on September 15
Producer 1047 Games announced this development as follows:
“After a long discussion and evaluation process, in order to bring out the game players deserve and not rely on the first game, as the 1047 Games team, we stopped the Splitgate development process and focused on our new game. Again, the game that will take place in the Splitgate universe will be a shooter and will include a lot of portals!”
1047 Games also emphasized that Splitgate will remain “active”:
“We want to emphasize that Splitgate, and therefore your items and accounts, will remain active. In fact, the Battle Pass, which we will release on September 15, will be distributed free of charge to thank Splitgate players.”
Splitgate entered the early access period in 2019 and remained in beta for quite some time. However, the collapse of the Splitgate beta in July 2021 was a harbinger of the interest the game would receive. So much so that the company’s donation campaign for the game opened last year, collected $ 100 million.
