Speedrunner cracks Starfield in 3 hours before full release

Bethesda’s new SciFi RPG Starfield is designed to offer a campaign that will keep you busy for around 40 hours. Even before the game celebrates its full release on September 6th, the speedrunners are already doing well. The record is 2:51 hours.

Starfield is a game to take your time with. There is a lot to do, the speed of the game is generally rather slow and distractions like loot boxes or interesting NPCs are lurking everywhere.

Over 250,000 lines of spoken dialogue should keep us from playing through the RPG quickly.

But the speedrunner community doesn’t care. Here you can see a lot of potential for Starfield and are already working on techniques to get through the campaign even faster.

Speedruns are an important part of the gaming community. Many players try such a project in the course of their gaming career, most of them fail in the first few hours. Some people stick with it and have a hobby for life.
