Special items were considered a “waste of development time,” put fans off, and now drop much more frequently

In Diablo 4 there is a type of item that is highly coveted by players – the Uber Uniques. They are powerful, but also extremely rare. So rare that players have them barely could find – until now. With Season 2 that has changed, for the benefit of the community.

What was the problem with Uber uniques? When Diablo 4 and its first season were released, many people struggled with one and the same problem: the RNG, because they were all looking for the Uber uniques.

Rare and powerful items that can be incorporated into almost any build to polish your heroes into devastating powers. The problem, however, was the luck of the loot and the chance of getting one of these items. We occasionally reported item drops to ensure that they existed, but never in such quantities that players could be sure of ever getting one.

With Season 2, however, the tide of luckless players has turned, because with a special boss, fans can now specifically farm Uniques. An expert has dared to do a big test and shows how high your chances are, even if you don’t gamble every day.

Expert gets 10 copies after 540 boss fights

What was tested? The expert Rob2628, also known as the person who was the first to push his character to level 100 in Diablo 4, conducted an experiment. He met with his colleagues in a four-man squad and defeated “Duriel”, the boss who drops the Uber Uniques, up to 540 times.

His goal was to find out in which pattern the boss drops these rare trinkets and came to the following conclusion:

  • Duriel was defeated 540 times in a four-player squad
  • The chances were 2160 possible drops (since four players were active)
  • A total of 43 Uber Uniques were dropped (total number in the squad)
  • Rob got 10 Uber Uniques as a Barbarian
  • 1x Andariel’s face
  • 2x Harlequin crown
  • 4x The Grandfather
  • 2x Bringer of Doom
  • 1x Ring of the Starless Heavens
  • What did Rob find? According to him, he cannot say exactly how the system calculates the drops and whether there is an exact pattern since RNG is involved. However, the fact is that his 540 attempts gave him 10 Uber Uniques. He then used Excel to calculate a percentage of 2%, which is roughly the chance of getting an Uber-Unique from Duriel.

So it’s relatively low compared to the other item drop rates, but at least noticeably higher than when Diablo 4 was released.

That was all the information about the Uber uniques and their drops. Have you already received one and if so, which one? Let us know in the comments!
