Special gaming events in LoL, WoW and Counter-Strike are stirring up the top of Twitch

The week of events and major events has broken out in gaming. Special events in WoW, LoL and Counter-Strike 2 cause a wild reshuffle in Twitch’s top 5. The big personality streamers that usually appear there are all gone. Only the Germans Papaplatte and eliasN97 are still in the top 10.

Who dominates Twitch? The most successful streamers on Twitch are all famous people who usually represent a specific game or type of streaming:

The most successful streamer is the American Kai Cenat, who is causing a sensation with event streams. He then plays through games in one go. Last week, however, he was busy with a wild basketball campaign.

Number 2 is Ibai, a Spaniard who is rooted in e-sports and plans big events. In principle, his ideas are the template for German streamers like Trymacs, who suddenly feel like organizing a boxing event.

In third to fifth place are Gaules, a CS-GO long-time streamer, fps_shaka, a Japanese gamer, and newcomer Jynxzi, who only plays Rainbow Siex Siege.

Trymacs is currently number 13 in Germany. He’s currently playing more League of Legends:

Events in WoW, Counter-Strike and LoL dominate Twitch

Who are the channels dominating this week? This week is dedicated to three events:

The World First race at WoW is over. That’s why Echo Esports is number 1 on Twitch.

Maximum, head of the Team Liquid guild, is in fourth place and the TeamLiquid channel itself is in fifth place in the charts.

All 3 channels streamed the race to see who would be the first to defeat the raid boss in World of Warcraft. In the end, Team Liquid, who had previously been noticed for cheating, actually won.

The “World First Race” is now thoroughly commercialized and sponsored. Otherwise the guilds probably wouldn’t broadcast the race, because it’s actually a competitive disadvantage to let other guilds watch how you do and what tactics you try out.

The channel “BLASTpremier” is in second place on Twitch this week. The BLAST Premier: Fall Final 2024, a tournament in Copenhagen, Denmark, ran from September 25th to 29th for $425,000. G2 Esports won the tournament and $200,000 on September 29th.

In third place, with twice as many viewers as usual, is Caedrel, a LoL analyst. He is casting the beginning of the LoL World Championships live, which began in Berlin at the weekend and has already claimed its first victim.

The top 10 on Twitch by viewing hours from September 23rd to 30th, 2024.

Where are the most successful Germans? Bucking the trend, Papaplatte in 8th place and eliasn97 in 10th place can stay in the top positions. Papaplatte was even able to gain significantly, while eliasn97 lost compared to the previous week.

What happens next? In CS:GO and WoW the events are already over, they will drop off again – so there is movement in the top 5 again.

The LoL Worlds have only just begun, one can assume that Caedrel will continue to grow and the Riot Games channel will also continue to shoot up from 6th place.

On German Twitch, Tolkin in particular is likely to benefit from the LoL boom. He can broadcast the LoL Worlds live and has increased his viewer minutes by 398% in the last 7 days: LoL: German streamer has more viewers for Worlds on Twitch than the official stream of his ex-company
