Formula Ykkösten’s Bahrain tests had enough special events on Friday.
The International Car Association (FIA) is investigating how the bus ended up on the track during the Formula One Friday test day in Bahrain. Bahrain’s last test day was interrupted in the afternoon when the bus drove in the wrong direction in the safety area.
The bus was quickly moved aside, and after a few minutes of break, the tests were continued.
– The red flag was due to an unauthorized vehicle. It was not on the track, but on the service road. However, we did not know where the vehicle was going, the FIA spokesman commented on the events.
The tests had to be interrupted already in the morning. There was glass on the track when the thrown stone broke the edge of the track. Haas Oliver Bearman admitted that he had broken the glass that had been lined with the track. The track had to be cleaned before driving could continue.
Bahrain tests had an hour -long interruption due to a power outage as early as Wednesday.
Mercedes George Russell was the fastest of Friday’s tests. Red Bull Max Verstappen drove the second best time and Williams Alex Albon Third the fastest round.
Test times are not very comparable, as the stables try different things in the tests and usually do not want to show all their performance before the actual season begins.
The Formula Ykkösten World Championship opening competition will be held on March 16 in Australia.
