A “special and exciting operation” by De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) was completed in Zeist on Monday. The central bank of the Netherlands has moved about 15 billion euros worth of gold and cash to the new cash center in Huis ter Heide for four weeks in the past week. “Transport is normal business for us, but transporting the entire stock is not normal business,” says Coen Voormeulen, director of cash at DNB.
