“I poured my heart and soul into my memoir, and I am grateful to my fans and readers around the world for their unwavering support,” the singer said in a press release from her publisher Gallery Books, part of book giant Simon & Schuster.
The book, which is also available in Swedish, was released in the US on October 24 and was hyped by Spears on Instagram, where she wrote that “The woman in me” was “the best-selling celebrity memoir in history”.
So far, that’s not quite right, as it sold worse than Prince Harry’s “Spare” did in its first week.
However, Deadline notes, the book release has boosted the flow of Spears’ music catalog, with a 24 percent increase in the US in just one week.
