This is reported by DN, which took part in email conversations from the Riksdag.
“Given the circumstances, the Speaker is prepared to pay a visit to Ankara, if and when it could contribute in a positive way to the bilateral relationship,” wrote the Riksdag’s international advisor to the NATO negotiators in October.
DN also reports that the Speaker’s staff explored the possibilities for a joint trip to Ankara with Finland’s Speaker Matti Vanhanen.
Sweden’s chief negotiator Oscar Stenström supports the idea of the Speaker going to Ankara.
“I would recommend proactive action,” he writes in an email on November 28, according to DN. Norlén has not had the opportunity to comment to the newspaper.
