When it became clear that the barrel actually came into the hands of the fishing association, Van Diermen was very relieved: “We really did everything we could. We turned it into a whole circus. We were constantly bidding on the barrel, and we have things done. We were so eager to bring it in. If it works then you will jump six feet in the air. I’m as happy as a child.”
