Spain will raise its defense to two percent of the country’s GDP “clearly before” 2029, says Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles Tuesday.
Spain has previously announced the target of 2029, with the country to meet the two percent criteria required by NATO.
Robles did not specify how much Spain will meet NATO’s requirements.
Spain uses 1.3 percent of GDP to the armed forces, which is the least in the entire military union.
