The Finnish men’s national football team will play on Tuesday 17 October. Against Kazakhstan at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium. The events will be followed from 18:15 on TV2, Areena and ‘s website.

On Sunday evening, the men’s European football qualifying games were played again. 19-year-old Barcelona midfielder Gavin scored at the beginning of the second half lifted Spain to a 1–0 away win over Norway.

Norway’s defeat also meant that Scotland, who did not play in the qualifiers at all on Sunday, will go to the games in addition to Spain from Group A. This is the fourth time that Scotland has qualified for the European Championships.

Scotland’s place in the competition means that Finland secured its place in the EC further qualification. Scotland was one of the teams that finished above Finland in the B League of the Nations League. Now that Scotland gets to the games through the qualifying group, Finland inherits Scotland’s place in the European Championship further qualifiers, which will be played in March.

That’s how it is in the case that Finland does not advance to the European Championship through the qualifying group. Finland still has a chance for this, but it practically requires Slovenia losing points and Finland winning its last three games.

In group D, Turkey sealed its place in the European Championships with a 4–0 home win over Latvia.

Wales and Croatia, who have ten points, are fighting for the second place in the group. Wales beat Croatia on Sunday Harry Wilson’s with two hits 2–1 in Cardiff.

For the time being, the host country Germany as well as France, Belgium, Portugal, Spain, Turkey and Scotland have secured their places for next year’s EC final tournament.
