(Tiper Stock Exchange) – Spanish inflation is reported to be decelerating in June but it is higher than expected. According to the Spanish National Institute of Statistics (INE), which today published a flash estimate, inflation on an annual basis is estimated at 1.9% compared to 3.2% in May, but higher than the 1.7% consensus.
The consumer price index on a monthly basis register a 0.6% increase after May’s unchanged level. The data compares with the +0.2% expected from the market.
Harmonized inflationwhich takes into account a different and identical basket for the whole EU, should register a trend increase of 1.6%, higher than1.5% of consensus and compared to 2.9% the previous month.
