SpaceX plans to finish this year with a staggering 97 launches for its Falcon rockets. This is a big increase compared to the 60 launches the company carried out last year. However, SpaceX, led by Elon Musk, seems to fall just short of the 100 launch target it hopes to achieve this year.
SpaceX broke launch record in 2023
SpaceX has had a busy year, launching 90 Falcon 9 missions carrying a variety of payloads into orbit in 2023. It has also launched 4 Falcon Heavy rockets and 3 more launches are planned by the end of the year.
Considering Starship’s difficulties in test flights, SpaceX’s launch of 97 rockets is considered a success, although it could not reach the target it set at the beginning of the year. The company expects a more intense pace in the coming years with new projects such as putting Starship into orbit and missions to Mars.
