An update from Entegrus Thursday said the 14 staffers sent to Florida Wednesday to help restore power to millions of customers affected by the storms are returning home.

While disappointed not to join recovery efforts, the team is proud of how quickly they were able to mobilize, Entegrus said. Within 24 hours of receiving the call for help, the team hit the road, joined by crews from Bluewater Power, ERTH Power, Essex Powerlines, and ELK Energy.

This rapid response demonstrates the readiness of local utilities to assist when and where needed, the utility added.

“We are incredibly proud of how our team came together to prepare and deploy in such a short time,” said Jim Hogan, Entegrus’s president and chief executive. “While our crew won’t be assisting on-site in Florida, this experience reaffirms our commitment to providing aid in times of crisis. Our thoughts remain with those impacted by these devastating storms.”

Entegrus thanked everyone who played a role in getting the crew on the road, and to the community for its support and warm send-off.

The convoy will be home in time for Thanksgiving, but their thoughts remain with those affected by the hurricanes and going restoration efforts in Florida, Entegrus said.

The utility has been there in the past to provide relief aid across North America. Previously, Entegrus supported FPL during hurricane Irma in 2017 and responded to other significant events, including hurricane Sandy in 2012 and hurricane Katrina in 2005.
