Southern Norway airspace closed due to technical fault Foreign

The entire airspace of southern Norway is closed on Thursday morning due to a technical fault in Oslo air traffic control. Finnair’s morning flight has reached Oslo as normal, says Finnair.

The Norwegian airport company Avinor says that the fault detected in the morning is causing significant delays in air traffic. Passengers are advised to follow the airlines’ instructions.

The closure of the airspace currently has effects especially on flights passing through Stavanger and Oslo, reports NRK.

Finnair is not affected so far

The airline Finnair is monitoring the situation. The Finnair flight that left Helsinki on Thursday morning was able to land in Oslo as normal. The next flight from Helsinki should leave at 12 o’clock.

The Norwegian airline tells VG that the airspace will remain temporarily closed until at least 12 o’clock Finnish time.

– It is impossible to say how long this situation will continue, Avinor’s spokesperson Catherine Framholt says to VG.
