South Korea’s presidential security chief says investigating authorities should avoid confrontation or bloodshed if the president Yoon Suk-yeol let’s try to arrest again. Security Manager Park Jong-joon commented on the matter to the press before his hearing as part of the police investigation.
Security forces prevented investigative authorities from arresting impeached President Yoon last week.
On Tuesday, a South Korean court issued a new arrest warrant for Yoon after the previous arrest warrant had expired.
The arrest warrant is related to Yoon’s sudden declaration of a state of emergency about a month ago, which the country’s opposition has called an attempted coup.
