    A South Korean plane of the same model as the one involved in Sunday’s fatal crash has experienced similar problems and was forced to turn around, Yonhap reports.

    Now South Korea is considering inspecting all Boeing planes of the B737-800 model.

    A plane carrying 161 passengers was forced to turn back to Gimpo Airport in Seoul on Monday morning after it encountered problems with the landing pad. According to Yonhap, the plane was the same model and belonged to the same airline as the plane involved in Sunday’s fatal crash, which killed 179 people.

    The flight crew informed their passengers about the problem with the landing pad and the plane was able to land at Gimpo Airport again about 40 minutes later.

    At the same time, South Korea announced that it is considering a “special” inspection of all Boeing B737-800 model aircraft operating in the country.

    – 101 B737-800 series aircraft are currently in service in South Korea. We are considering plans to carry out a special inspection of them, said Joo Jong-Wan, head of the aviation department at South Korea’s Ministry of Transport, according to AFP.
