Four police officers were reportedly killed in a shooting at a police facility in the city of el-Arish in the Sinai Peninsula in northern Egypt on Sunday, two sources told the AP. At least another 21 police officers were injured.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting are unclear.
North Sinai has for several years been the scene of an insurgency in which militant jihadists have carried out a large number of attacks, mainly targeting security forces and Christian groups.
