Thomas Bodström, lawyer and former Minister of Justice, reacts strongly to Impulskollen’s and Dumpen’s methods.

– In my opinion, it sounds like it is criminal, either extortion or illegal coercion.

After the confrontation with Dumpen, Impulskollen comes and wants money. In some cases to stop suspension, in other cases to mitigate the consequences of the suspension.

It involves large sums of money, often over SEK 100,000, which must be paid on the same day.

– From what you have described, it really sounds like this is criminal. Then it’s extortion or illegal coercion, says lawyer Thomas Bodström.

– There are legal cases where shoplifters have had to pay money to avoid being reported to the police. And many times this is even worse than reporting to the police, here you threaten with scandalization.

Thomas Bodström also believes that the agreements the men entered into with Impulskollen are not valid.

– Agreements entered into under duress do not apply according to the Contracts Act. Then you can demand the money back.

“A business activity”

Bodström is very critical of Dumpen’s operations.

– It is much better that the police handle this. You can even sabotage criminal investigations and destroy victims of crime. It is much better that the police, who are also allowed to be online, do this work instead of us having private individuals acting as the police.

– It also doesn’t sound like it might just be a matter of idealists, but it seems like a ruthless business operation.

Thomas Bodström is now investigating a police report or a lawsuit against Dumpen and Impulskollen due to invalid agreements because they were entered into under duress.
