Soon winters much ruder in Europe This dreaded climate scenario

Last October, a letter arrives in the mailbox of the Nordic Council of Ministers. Signed by 44 scientists, the missive alerts on a disruption in the circulation of the oceans, which could well have “devastating and irreversible” effects. A scenario whose occurrence is considered to be possible before the end of this century. A scenario also already glimpsed, in an oh so Hollywood version, by director Roland Emmerich in his film “The day after” (2004).

The temperate climate in Europe is notably allowed by the Amoc, an English acronym that could be translated by “meridian circulation of the Atlantic”. A kind of sailor treadmill, allowing the hot waters that go to Greenland to cool, and whose good step is in danger.
