Shortly after release, Concord will be taken offline, as announced on the PlayStation blog. The game received a lot of negative feedback from the community and particularly struggled with matchmaking issues and low player numbers.
What kind of game is this? Concord is a PvP multiplayer shooter from Sony, set in a futuristic science fiction universe. The game focuses on team-based gameplay where cooperation and strategy are crucial. However, shortly after its release, the game flopped on Steam. In a few days it will be taken offline completely.
Concord will be taken offline on September 6th
Why is Concord being taken offline? On September 3, Ryan Ellis, the game director, published a statement on the PlayStation blog in which he announced that the game would be taken offline on September 6. The main reason for this was the feedback from the community, which, among other things, described the characters as “unbelievably ugly” and expressed many problems with the matchmaking.
The news that the game is being taken offline so soon after its release will come as a surprise to many. Games journalist Jason Schreier has already commented on the topic on X and writes: “Wild news – PlayStation’s new game Concord has performed so poorly that the company is pulling it from stores and refunding everyone who bought it.”
What do players who have already purchased the game do? On the PlayStation Blog, the Game Director also says that all players who have already purchased the game will receive their money back. The refund will be made automatically to the original payment method, so players do not need to do anything else.
Concord is not the only shooter coming out in 2024. The new shooter Spectre Divide is also being released today, September 3rd.
