Sony has finally cracked! The PS5 is at an unprecedented price

It’s official, Sony has decided to hit hard for its Black Friday 2024! The Japanese manufacturer has put a wave of promotions online on its PlayStation products, headlined by unprecedented discounts on its flagship console, the PS5. These offers began this Friday, November 22 on the PlayStation Store but also at authorized resellers. And they will last until December 2, for 10 days only! Available in Standard version with Blu-Ray player or in Digital Edition, both in Slim, the PS5 has never been so affordable since its release.

Faced with competition, but also undoubtedly the volley of criticism which emerged when the PS5 Pro was released at the start of the school year in relation to its price (799 euros), Sony has visibly decided to respond with this “Black Friday PlayStation” in ahead of the rest of the market, Black Friday 2024 being officially scheduled for the following Friday, i.e. November 29, 2024. Not sure, however, that we should wait until then given the prices charged, the PS5 Slim Digital Edition now falling under the 400 euro mark, 374 euros precisely when the PS5 Slim with Blu Ray player goes from 549 euros to 475 euros… Never seen before! Also note the arrival of a new pack combining PS5 Slim and DLC advantages for Fortnite, called the Cobalt Star pack.

The PS5 is available in several versions: Standard, Slim and Pro. The Standard was the very first generation, followed by the Slim version (finally smaller) and the more powerful Pro version presented at the start of the 2024 school year. Each console therefore has its price. The cheapest PS5 console remains the so-called “Digital” version which does not have a disc reader and which only allows you to play by downloading your games from the internet. This is also the case for the much more expensive PS5 Pro, which caused people to cringe at the release of this boosted console at a very “premium” price… The PS5 Digital is now below the 400 mark euros with a better price at 374.99 euros at Sony and resellers, compared to 474 euros for the Slim version with Blu-Ray player.

What are the prices of the new PS5 Pro?

We should probably not expect very big promotions on the new PS5 Pro, released at the start of the 2024 school year. Merchants could, however, offer some packs and special offers, with accessories such as a 2nd controller included. The “official” price displayed is 799 euros.

What PS5 packs will be sold during Black Friday 2024?

Every year, Black Friday is also an opportunity to take advantage of special “packs” which combine the console and accessories: controllers and/or games.
