In a video, the developers of Sons of the Forest react to a speed runner who plays through the survival game “The Forest” in the shortest possible time.
The Forest is a survival game that has already enjoyed great popularity on Steam. The game comes from the developer studio Endnight Games Ltd., which will soon release the eagerly awaited sequel releases Sons of the Forest.
As part of an IGN video, two developers from the game studio watched and commented on a run of the speed runner Akaya. The two game makers in the video are:
The two watched as the speedrunner managed to beat The Forest in around 20 minutes. In the end, they say they are impressed with the player’s performance.

The speedrunner hops through the forest
What is his strategy? What is most striking about the speedrun is the type of locomotion that the speedrunner chooses: Akaya hops around with his character. The developers then explain that jumping diagonally in the game helps to increase the speed. The Speedrunner saves time with its unusual method of locomotion.
Akaya also shows a sophisticated strategy in the boss fight against Megan, a young girl with mutations. He skillfully attacks the monster with a spear, timing his moves perfectly with Megan’s attacks.
The developers suspect that the player is aware of the mechanics of the attacks and is standing in front of the monster in such a way that he is not hit. With success: Within a short time, the speed runner completes this fight as well.

How are the developers reacting? In the end, the developers are impressed, saying: “This is crazy, this is great”. They’re thrilled to see someone take the hard route, not using too many exploits, just playing it.
Who is the speed runner? The speed runner is called Akaya. He has already uploaded several Spreedrun videos of The Forest to his YouTube channel under the name Akaya-Kaito, most of which he needs around 15 to 25 minutes for the game. He varies between different modes, from Peaceful to Hardmode.

When will Sons of the Forest be released? For those who have already enjoyed The Forest, there is good news:
The sequel, titled Sons of the Forest, will be released this week. On February 23rd, 2023 the new part of Endnight Games Ltd. appear.
First of all, the game will be released in Early Access. It has not yet been announced how long it will remain in the status until the full release. On Steam it says 6 to 8 months – but you don’t want to commit yourself too much just yet.
