Tonight at the PlayStation State of Play event, the long-awaited Sonic x Shadow Generations was officially announced. Rumors about a remastered version of the game, which was released in 2011, have finally come true, but this time it brings something new with the Shadow character.

Sonic Generations was a tribute to Sonic games past and present, with both classic 2D and modern 3D levels. This new version will be released in the fall of this year and will now include levels featuring the character Shadow.
In tonight’s teaser, the character Shadow races through dark city levels, battling tentacled alien enemies. This new game focuses on the Shadow character ahead of the third Sonic the Hedgehog movie, which will be released in December.
Following games released the previous year such as Sonic Superstars and Sonic Dream Team, Sonic x Shadow Generations will form a new chapter in the series.
