England were knocked out by France in the quarter-finals of the World Cup.
But the English still made history – at least off the pitch.
It is the first time ever that the English fans go home from a championship without someone being taken care of by the long arm of the team.
No, football did not “come home” this time either. Although England impressed at times in the championship, it stopped in the quarter-finals against France. The attacking star Harry Kane had double chances from the penalty spot, but burned the second of them with just minutes left in the game. Thus it was a departure, and a championship to forget for the English.
Becoming historic

It is the first time ever during a football championship that no English supporter has been taken care of by the police. Mark Robertswho is the head of the British supporters’ police, believes that the supporters’ behavior during the championship has been “exemplary”.
– Usually we have a few taken care of every championship, but now we have had zero is something that we have never seen before, says Roberts according to the British Mirror.
